Bio

Overview

Michael Kowolenko is a Principal Research Scholar in the Department of Computer Science and an Industry Fellow in the Center of Innovation Management Studies at North Carolina State University.  His research and teaching activities focus on models of integrating data analytics in the area of critical thinking and decision-making.  Prior to joining NC State, Mike was a senior executive in the pharmaceutical industry where his last position was as Senior Vice-President of Technical Operations and Product Supply in Wyeth’s Biotechnology and Vaccine Division.  Michael has led a number of Research and Development, Operations, IT, and Engineering organizations during his 23 years in the industry.  Mike has been awarded multiple grants from IBM for his work in developing decision models, and named an “IBM Big Data & Analytics Hero”.  In addition, he has consulted with and instructed multiple companies in the use of analytics in business decision making.

Mike serves on the faculty of the Cisco Data Sciences Level 1 Program.
