Interview with Brad Kirkman

In this month’s featured interview, we chat with Bradley Kirkman, the General (Ret.) H. Hugh Shelton Distinguished Professor of Leadership and Department Head of the Department of Management, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship in the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University. Kirkman speaks about the three dimensions of leadership written about in his new book “3D Team Leadership” and the top leadership mistakes seen today.

Custom Data Science Program

NC State Executive Education (NCSEE) Data Science series hosted a week-long program September 18-22 for one of its major partners. Led by faculty from the Computer Science Department and the Institute for Advanced Analytics, the Introduction to Analytics course¬†on NC State’s Centennial Campus¬†included end-to-end data science methodology, analytics taxonomy, data visualization and a brief immersion into software applications that allow theory-based concepts to be put into practice.

The four-day open enrollment course provides engineers, scientists, and others professionals with a deeper understanding of fundamental business models that drive decision-making in organizations, and how to create a business case for a new product, service, or process improvement. Faculty will deliver sessions via case discussions, role play, exercises, and simulations.

From Retail to e-Tail: Jenkins MBA Students Dig into a Timely Case Study, Discussion with Key Players

MBA students can expect to analyze and discuss in depth several business cases in the course of their studies. Not all, though, will have the chance to discuss the case with members of the management team at the company being analyzed and the author of the case study.
