Introduction to Business Analytics (From Data to Decisions)
Led by: Bill Rand

This course will introduce students to the language of business analytics and give several examples of the powerful use of business analytics in practice. Moreover, it will walk the students through the CRISP-DM framework, which provides a business process model for how to go about applying the business analytics in reality. Following completion of this course, students will be able to understand how to make informed decisions about different modeling approaches used in business analytics and leverage examples of practical applications of business analytics.

Financial Analysis (Simulation)
Led by: Helmut Hergeth

A popular activity with executives and developing leaders, the Income/Outcome Simulation offers a fun experience, with strong improvement in understanding cash flow, impact of investment decisions, analyzing financial documents, and other critical skills for future leaders. Participants will compete in teams of four to five, making decisions on product design, material sourcing, innovation efforts, financing the business, and so on.

Authentic Leadership
Led by: Beth Ritter

This session explores the timely topic of leadership during change and the need for authenticity. The characteristics of authentic leaders will be shared as well a model of 12 competencies needed during change initiatives. The session will be reflective as well as forward thinking. Participants will consider their performance as a leader during change and how they can improve future performance.

Emotional Intelligence
Led by: Beth Ritter

This course will review the definitions and concepts of Emotional Intelligence. This session teaches participants to understand their preferred Communication styles and the styles of others and their emotional Impact on others. Using the I-opt assessment as a framework to build self-awareness, the session will provide you with added skills to listen, understand and communicate more effectively with team members and critical stakeholders based on their unique characteristics.

Bright Spots
Led by: Myra Moses

Participants will explore ways to enhance success by identifying and replicating positive aspects of a situation or issue. They will analyze the negative spiraling narratives that often exist during times when individuals or teams are attempting to solve problems or enact change. They will examine how those negative stories can become paralyzing, or limit solutions. As a way to address such negative narratives, participants will explore positive approaches as a method of using divergent-thinking for effective problem-solving and decision-making. Participants will also apply the same approach for effective problem-solving and decision-making within teams by identifying unique values, experiences, and skill sets that create opportunities for building bridges and engaging more successfully with others.

Virtual/Diverse Team Management

The seminar provides specific guidance from research conducted with virtual teams at Alcoa, Cisco and Sabre. Teams will practice behaviors of inclusivity and virtual team management in a team project planning activity.

Agile Leadership

This self-paced online course will develop your skills to practice Agile Leadership in your position within the organization. You will learn the difference between Agile Leadership and Compliance Management, and be able to discern when each one is most effective through practical real-world examples. You will learn why Agile Leadership is required in a dynamic VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) world. You will develop the eight key skills needed to effectively implement Agile Leadership through discussions, quizzes and exercises. A final application exercise will guide you to a plan that will create your personal journey to effective Agile Leadership.
