Bill Rand, associate director of marketing, was recently awarded a $103,004 grant from the Lab for Analytic Science (LAS) to continue his work on methods to detect characterize, and assess state-sponsored influence campaigns using publicly available social media data.

In collaboration with Ph.D. statistics student Anthony Weishampel, Rand will use the grant to apply functional data analyses to model the volume and lifespans of marketing and state-sponsored influence campaigns on social media.
